Henry's Lake Fishing Report

The last couple of weeks have been pretty much the same. Fish are being caught in a variety of places. When Bill and I have fished together and have toured the lake looking for fish, we have found fish in every spot we stopped. Most of the fish have been big with sizes ranging from 16 inches to 30 inches. Fish are still being caught off Stayley's, Hatchery area and some over by Pittsburg creek. There have also been some caught over around Targhee Creek and off the cliffs.

The up coming weeks should see a lot of the Brookies start to stage up for their spawning run. Look for them in and around the mouth of the tributaries. There should be some large Brookies caught this year along with some large hybrids during the spawn. The last couple of weeks the fish have been caught with a variety of flies. The Mighty Mouse, and Light Olive Crystal bugger are the top two choices. The Brown Crystal Bugger is also starting to catch some fish. Scud patterns are a good choice as well.
